changes because of edtech2

REFLECTION

Friday(1:00-4:00) is my schedule is my schedule for Educational Technology 2. First day of school when questions in my mind popped out. What really is Educational Technology 2? Why is it different with Educational Technology 1 ?
Every Friday afternoon, little by little the questions in my mind starts to unfold. Educational Technology is an important subject that needs to be undertaken by all the individuals especially future teachers like me because with the understanding of Educational Technology 2 future teachers like me will be knowledgeable of using those emerging technologies in our generation that will help in the process of transmitting our knowledge to the students. Although Educational Technology is very useful for us it is also like all other subjects that has its weaknesses. One of its weaknesses is when it comes to fight with total block-out; technology nowadays is not useful without electricity because only electricity runs the technologies used by a teacher like Overhead Projectors and Computers. Another weakness of educational technology is when the person who is studying this subject is ignorant of technologies; it is because one cannot easily understand things that he/she is not familiar of.
As I come closer to the finish line of this subject I have realized that it is not just merely taking a subject but to undergo changes in life.It is therefore good to be open in learning all the things around us, especially when it comes to the new technologies in the world. We must be vigilant enough to at least know the basic uses and applications of these technologies. It is also important to be.
I thank everyone who help me in my EDTECHDAYS . To Mr. Helmar G. Ycong my edtech instructor for sharing the knowledge he has in mind, to all my classmates for helping me do my assignments when I can't and to my beloved family for always understanding me when I come home late.I really appreciate all your effort guys. My special Thank You to Our Lord God for making all this things possible !!!!!

EXERCISE NO. 11 : EDUCATIONAL SHOW

 DESCRIPTION

This exercise is about making a educational show using Windows Movie Maker. I am the editor of this educational show entitled Math Around the Globe.

LEARNINGS

Undertaking this exercise for me is the most difficult. It is because we are just novices in this type of application. I have learned that videos can be chopped into smaller pieces , sounds and pictures can be joined together for a better output and videos can be slowed down. As this exercise was done, I have realized that there are applications that will make our outputs better.

publish publisher

EXERCISE NO. 10 : MS PUBLISHER

 DESCRIPTION

In this exercise I made three types of publications namely awards certificate, business card, and greeting card with the use of MS Publisher.

LEARNINGS

I have learned that there are many types of publications, some of these are:
  1. Advertisements
  2. Award Certificates
  3. Banners and others
MS Publisher has a bulk of ready made outlines for our work of making publications to be easy and follows a standard in making such publications.

EXERCISE NO. 9 : MS EXCEL

 DESCRIPTION

This exercise I made grades of my imaginary students. It is written in the Microsoft Excel.

LEARNINGS

In this exercise I have learned to make grades of students using the Microsoft Excel. I also indicated whether they passed or failed.

EXERCISE NO. 8 : POWERPOINT

 DESCRIPTION

In this exercise I made a PowerPoint presentation based on the preceding exercise on MS Word. I made the presentation considering important guidelines in making a PowerPoint presentation.

 LEARNINGS

In this exercise I have learned that there are things that are important to consider. Some of these are:

  1. Select Colors that Have High Contrast- it is because through high contrast colors the words written will be clear for the viewers.
  2. Have Minimal Words in the Slide- so that the presentation will not be overcrowded and the audience can easily remind of the important points you want them to know.

Other points to consider are the number of audience and a balanced slide should be observed.

EXERCISE NO. 7 : MS WORD

 DESCRIPTION

In this exercise I wrote a Sample Detailed Lesson Plan in Mathematics IV. The topic is Square pyramid. In this Lesson Plan, I followed the format that is used by almost all teachers in writing a Detailed Lesson Plan.

 LEARNINGS

In writing a lesson plan in Ms Word it is important to write first in a paper the draft of your lesson plan so that in encoding it in the Ms Word you could finish it in a minimal time. It is also important to follow the format of the original lesson plan so that it will really look like the original lesson plan.

EXERCISE NO. 6 : OHP

 DESCRIPTION
In this exercise I made slides that will be used during lectures with the use of overhead projectors.I do techniques like over lays, 3D drawings and disclosure techniques.

 LEARNINGS

I have learned that there are thing that we must consider in making a slide presentation for OHP. One thing we must consider is that words should be limited and important points are the only thing that will be written in the slide. Another thing to consider is that the transparencies should be clean and free from erasures. Other things to consider is its color to add attraction of audience.

EXERCISE NO. 5 : NON-OBJECTIVE SHAPES

 DESCRIPTION

Exercise no. 5 is all about non-objective shapes where I close my eyes and write an endless line until my instructor told me to stop.

 LEARNINGS

After doing the exercise no. 5 which is non-objective shapes, I have realized that non-objective shapes is not really a concrete object but is just a representation or just looks like a real object or animal. I have also learned that even we do not intend to draw a concrete object, still there will be something that look likes your output.

EXERCISE NO. 4 : NINE TECHNIQUES

 DESCRIPTION

In the exercise no.4, what I did is to shade the part of the tree using the nine techniques of shading namely; horizontal line shading, vertical line shading, diagonal line shading, cross shading, zigzag line shading, spiral shading, circles shading, dots shading and smudge shading.

LEARNINGS

I have learned that is easier to cast a shading if I will use one technique of shading because you’re working with only one set of lines. And if I am to use different techniques of shading in one drawing it is more likely to become dirty to look while if I use only one technique of shading in one drawing then t is more convinient and clean to look at.

EXERCISE NO. 3 : THE HUMAN FACE

 DESCRIPTION

In this exercise I tried my best to draw a human face. It is done by first drawing an oblong shape and divide it vertically and horizontally. Next, I draw the parts of the human face that are symmetric. Erase the necessary markings and apply finishing touches for the drawing to be presentable.

LEARNINGS

Based on the exercise no. 3 I think one important thing to consider in drawing portraits is proportion and perspective. It is because as we can observe our face is balanced with two eyes, two ears and a nose. It is also important to consider that the finished drawing of human face is clean and free from erasures.
